For several years, Nastia, 32, had been living at Community Homestead in Osceola, Wisconsin—a unique community where adults with developmental disabilities live and work together on an organic farm. She loved her life there, but like many people, she hoped to find something more: a meaningful romantic relationship.

The Search Took Time, Then Nastia Met Dominick

“We did an interview where I talked about my life and what I want for the future,” Nastia shared.
She went on a few dates along the way, but none felt like the right fit. Instead of settling, she stayed open to the process. Then she met Dominick.
A Connection That Changed Both Their Lives
Dominick, 35, immediately connected with Nastia. Although he stands at 6-foot-2 and towers over her physically, the two quickly discovered how naturally they fit together emotionally.
As their relationship grew, Dominick visited Community Homestead—and something unexpected happened. He fell in love not only with Nastia, but with the life she had built there.
Eventually, he made the decision to join the community himself.
Trading Noise for Nature
Before moving to Community Homestead, Dominick lived alone in an apartment and worked at FedEx, where the environment could often feel loud and overwhelming. Life on the farm offered something very different: peace, purpose, and connection.
“Living at Community Homestead has made my life healthier,” Dom said. “Eating organic food and trying new things. Being an outdoorsy person, I have enjoyed the wood splitter, chicken coop, pruning in the orchard, and getting apple trees ready for the season.”
Together, Nastia and Dom have built a life centered around companionship, shared experiences, and community.

From First Date to Future Plans
Their relationship has continued to grow far beyond that first introduction. The couple has traveled to Florida together with Dom’s family, spent time foraging on the farm, enjoyed dinners out together, and become deeply integrated into each other’s lives and families.
Today, Nastia and Dominick are exclusive dating partners and continue building a future together.
