Coaching
Dating and relationships can bring up big feelings, questions, and moments of uncertainty. Coaching at Find Love Safely provides a supportive space for members to reflect, practice skills, and build confidence — at a pace that feels right.
Coaching is not required to participate in matchmaking. It’s simply one more layer of support available when it’s helpful.

What Is Relationship Coaching?
Find Love Safely coaching focuses on real-life relationship skills, including:
- Communication and conversation skills
- Confidence-building
- Understanding boundaries and consent
- Navigating dating experiences
- Processing feelings around connection, disappointment, or change
Coaching sessions are supportive and practical, not therapy, and are designed specifically for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Live Virtual Coaching Workshops
Ongoing skill-building, twice each month.
Our live virtual coaching workshops are held twice monthly and focus on practical, real-life relationship skills. Topics rotate throughout the year and are revisited often, so members can join at any point and continue building confidence over time.

Common workshop topics include:
- Building confidence and self-esteem
- What friendship and dating really mean
- Starting and ending conversations
- Texting, calling, and online communication
- Boundaries, consent, and personal space
- Online safety and recognizing red flags
- Handling rejection and disappointment
- Expressing interest respectfully
- Managing big feelings around relationships
- Preparing for dates and social events
- Respectful ways to end a dating connection
- Handling teasing, misunderstandings, or conflict
Workshops are interactive, welcoming, and designed specifically for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Members are never required to share personal details and are encouraged to participate at their own comfort level.

Choosing a Coach
Members and families may share a coach preference when enrolling in coaching or the Concierge Program. We do our best to honor preferences whenever possible while balancing availability and scheduling.
In some cases, our team may recommend a coach based on goals, support needs, or timing to ensure the best fit.

- Sessions are 60 minutes
- Coaching is collaborative and encouraging
- Members guide the conversation with support from the coach
- Caregiver involvement, when appropriate, is discussed in advance
Our goal is to help members feel more confident, prepared, and supported — not overwhelmed.
Coaching Scheduling & Attendance
We understand that life happens, and flexibility matters — especially when schedules, support needs, or technology can change.
At the same time, our coaches reserve dedicated time for each session. To support consistency and sustainability, we ask that families review the following:
- Coaching sessions canceled 24 hours or more in advance may be rescheduled without penalty.
- Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, are considered completed sessions.
- For Concierge members, missed sessions count toward the monthly session.
- For add-on coaching, missed sessions are not refunded.
If challenges arise around scheduling, technology, or support needs, we encourage reaching out. Our team is always happy to problem-solve and adjust when appropriate.
